Sara Waka

I was born in the city of fashion and design, Milan. My parents met there as Japanese students of opera and they never left. Before they knew it, they had another addition to their little Milano-Japanese family. I would define myself as the female version of the Nintendo character Super Mario : an Italian created by Japanese, a true « MAMMA MIA » ! After studying art management in Milan, I went onto to Paris’s Sorbonne to study comparative cultural studies. My love of art and culinary culture took me around the world, with time spent living in London, Tokyo and Paris. During my travels. I realized that most of the time, comparative culture between East and West is often presented in a boring and difficult way. I created Wakapedia.it in order to share with the world through my own personal vision. This site is a phantasmagorical universe, colorful, multilingual and multicultural, one which aims to create a cultural bridge – made of art, fashion, communication and gastronomy – between East and West. And all of it is done ‘Waka-style:’ unconventional, informal… with a lot of Italian-Japanese humor!
