Wakapedia: official media partner of the Embassy of Italy in Japan for Italian Cuisine Week!
This year, the Wakapedia team has the honor of being the official media partner of the Embassy of Italy in Tokyo during Italian Cuisine Week in Japan. The event, which will take place from 18 to 24 November, is part of a wider global initiative – the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World” – promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. With a packed program of over 60 tasty appointments and events proposed by advocates of the Italian System all over Japan, Italian Cuisine Week will surely celebrate the food and wine traditions of the Italian territories, and the excellent quality products and wines of the peninsula.
The main themes of this fourth edition of Italian Cuisine Week will be the Mediterranean diet and the Italian aperitif. In addition to the numerous events on the calendar, two catalogs will be published to introduce as many Japanese people as possible to Italian culinary traditions. One catalog will be dedicated to Italian restaurants in Japan, with a focus on the most authentic pizzerias. A second catalog, new this year, will be dedicated to the Made in Italy aperitif with a selection of 74 bars and clubs in Japan that will offer special pre-dinner menus with sparkling wine, cocktails, and tasting of cheeses and cold cuts for the duration of Italian Cuisine Week.
As a prelude to the event, Wakapedia has shot a video in collaboration with Antonio Fucito (Garage Pizza, Dissapore), to explain how and where to eat Italian in Japan – from breakfast, to pizza for lunch, and all the way to the aperitif – a true ritual of Dolce Vita!
In this funny and informative clip, Sara Waka is joined by Giorgio Starace, the Italian Ambassador in Tokyo, and Girolamo Panzetta, famous TV presenter and living emblem of Italianness in the Land of the Rising Sun.
