Believe it or not, at the beginning of <strong>20<\/strong><sup>th<\/sup> century when Puccini first presented her work to the public he got so criticized! Well, now he got his revenge, better late than never!<\/p>\n<p><em>Cho-cho-san<\/em> has been very well interpreted by the soprano <strong>Maria Jos\u00e9 Siri<\/strong>, and directed by <strong>Riccardo Chailly<\/strong> and <strong>Alvis Hermanis<\/strong>. The stage architecture, made of authentic Japanese sliding doors decorated with traditional patterns and surrounded by an a <strong>kabuki-theatre-like<\/strong> atmosphere, were capable to bring the public directly to Japan, born place of Mrs. Butterfly. And not only that, but we could smell the Japanese atmosphere ways before the start of the play thanks to the superb cherry blossoms decorations of the \u201cHonor Loggia\u201d designed by<strong> Dolce &amp; Gabbana<\/strong> stylists.<\/p>\n<p>And talking about fashion, the most fashionable things were definitely the actors\u2019 costumes: the stage became a truly catwalk on which traditional Japanese clothes belonging to different epochs have been walking on. <strong>The picking of various time periods wasn\u2019t the only mistake committed by Puccini, but we must forgive him recognizing that, when he wrote Madame Butterfly, Japan was really a land and culture far away from him and from the common knowledge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4579\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Prova-generale-181_K65A3752-1024x666.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Prova-generale-181_K65A3752-1024x666.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Prova-generale-181_K65A3752-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Prova-generale-181_K65A3752-768x500.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Prova-generale-181_K65A3752-600x390.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4587 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373-600x900.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.wakapedia.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4D7A5373.jpg 1267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/strong>But don\u2019t worry too much, about this kind of imprecisions it has been discussed a lot during the symposium hold at La Scala theatre organized from Statale University of Milan. A precious contribute has been given by Takao Okamura, a lyric singer and philological critic of <em>Madame Butterfly<\/em> Opera.<\/p>\n<p>It is not a coincidence that the day of the conference at La Scala was also the anniversary of the <strong>150<\/strong> years of partnership between Italy and Japan, relationship that can be clearly seen throughout fashion, art and gastronomy.
